How To Extend Windows 2012 R2 Evaluation Period
Unremarkably they either requite y'all the fundamental on the download page or email it to you later. I've never seen an eval come pre-licensed (officially at least).

On the TechNet website information technology states:
All evaluation versions are fully functional during the evaluation period, although booting to Safe mode is not available. The Windows Server 2012 Standard and Windows Server 2012 Datacenter editions come with the activation key pre-installed. After the 180-day evaluation period elapses, the server warns yous in diverse ways depending on the edition.

You lot can try resetting the grace flow just I would download a new eval.

Y'all demand to activate it in ten days (no serial lawmaking is required), then the trial flow of 180 days begins
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj574204.aspx (information technology is for 2012 but it is the same)
For all editions, you accept 10 days to complete online activation, at which point the evaluation period begins and runs for 180 days. During the evaluation period, a notification on the Desktop displays the days remaining the evaluation catamenia (except in Windows Server 2012 Essentials). You tin also run slmgr.vbs /dlv from an elevated control prompt to see the time remaining.
To get 180 day trail, select Actuate Software. Practise not enter an activation key unless you lot actually have one and select Next. Windows will then verify over the internet and come up back stating clearly that you have 180 days.

I'd have to disagree with you Corrado. When you select Active Software, it simply prompts you to enter a key. No other option is bachelor.
And in regards to the 10 twenty-four hours catamenia also doesn't make sense, every bit the server shuts downwards after 1 or 2hrs when it'due south expired. As I kept researching the event, when I returned to the server information technology was power off.
I've also come up to find out, the server has to be able to get online. I hadn't connected it to the Internet yet, and was under the impression information technology would still land 180 twenty-four hour period trial. Once I entered the DNS, the server activated on its own. All proficient to go now. No user interaction is needed to activate the 180 day trial.

I've washed multiple times with Windows 2008 R2 trial; I don't know if 2012 R2 is inverse or the server activated on its own (with 2008 R2 information technology was necessary to do this functioning manually)
When it asks for a serial lawmaking it was possible just to press "next" and the activation of trial catamenia was done; as you say it is necessary to be able to get online equally the activation is done online

That is true, it has inverse with Server 2012 R2. I recollect the procedure in Server 2008 R2. I was so confused when I saw information technology, and frustrated! New things to learn in 2012, and it looks similar plenty more to come.
Cheers Corrado! Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I downloaded the iso file from below link and installed the Os, but it is showing as trial version expired and when I click to activate then it is asking for product key.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2012-r2
But I didn't become whatsoever product key to activate the trail version.
Any suggestions?

Did you just download it or was that something you downloaded previously? It seems the expiration date is fix from when information technology was downloaded, not from when installed if yous downloaded it a while dorsum.

I downloaded in in ane month back.If that is the case, Ideally it should come for more 5 months right?

Open Command prompt as Administrator.
Type the following command "slmgr.vbs /rearm"
which reset the licensing status of machine and press enter.
Restart your server then you volition found the evaluation menses expired to 180 24-hour interval.
Savour :)
